Because AFTER SCHOOL TIME doesn't have to mean ALONE TIME
YMCA Kid's Club is a place for children in Grades 1 through 6 to build friendships, learn, gain leadership skills and have fun after the school bell has rung.
The program is a unique partnership between your elementary school, YMCA Calgary and our participating families.
YMCA Kid's Club furthers each child's personal development through:
- strengthening values and fostering personal growth
- building a sense of responsibility within the community
- encouraging and teaching respect for our environment
- developing an understanding of global issues

The Program
YMCA Kids' Club will involve structured, age-appropriate activities facilitated by YMCA staff. An afterschool snack will be provided each day.
Four sessions will be offered during the school year. Each session will feature daily themes with activities that are reflective of childrens' interests. Themes will include:
- Global Awareness
- Games, Sports and Challenges
- Y Leader
- Activity Clubs

The Participants
The program is for children in Grades 1 through 6. There will be at least one staff person for every 15 children. Children will be divided into smaller groups, where appropriate, based on age and/or the activities that interest them.

Programs run regular school days from the afternoon bell to 5:30 pm. Programs do not operate on ½ days, PD days, or during school holiday periods.
